A beloved cocker spaniel that was stolen from Chalfont St Giles was found dumped in Leeds and has now been reunited with his owners.

Bruno was one of three dogs stolen from the area on December 12, police said, with a huge internet campaign launched to reunite him with his owners.

According to the campaign’s Facebook page, the pooch was found in Darlington last week and transferred to a police-approved kennel in the area with officers informing his owners he had been found.

But shockingly, thieves broke into the kennels and stole him for a second time.

Thankfully, Bruno was found in Leeds on Monday (February 15) after being dumped there.

A statement on the campaign’s Facebook page on Monday said: “Bruno is safely home. He was picked up straying, having been dumped in Leeds early this morning.

“He was handed into a vet and owner advised. He’s in good shape and checked over.
