Gareth Ainsworth praised his players for their efforts against Derby County as a late goal for the visitors saw them snatch all three points.

Wycombe dominated the game and thought they had taken the lead after Daryl Horgan had the ball in the back of the net for it to be flagged offside.

Replays showed that the Republic of Ireland international winger was in fact onside and then to add insult to injury Uche Ikpeazu scored an own goal to give Derby the lead one minute later.

Ikpeazu made up for his error by equalising from the spot in the second half but a 94th-minute winner from Andrew Wisdom made Derby boss Wayne Rooney’s journey home much more comfortable.

There were also questions asked about the winner as to whether Derby forward Colin Kazim-Richards was in an offside position impeding Wycombe keeper Ryan Allsop but the goal was given.

However, Ainsworth was proud of his team's performances and has praised summer signings Ryan Tafazolli and Uche Ikpeazu since arriving at the club.

The Wycombe manager said: “I couldn’t ask for any more from my players.

“Our performances have been outstanding.

“I thought Ryan Tafazolli and Uche Ikpeazu have been phenomenal since they have come into the team.

“We signed them in August, but they weren’t fit until January because Ryan picked up an injury in the Swansea game and Uche picked up an injury in training.

“I think with those two back, coupled with things going our way, I can’t fathom out why they are going so against us at the moment."
