To accompany the article on the Nostalgia page which describes the pre-war furniture exhibitions held annually in September known as “Wycombe Month”, we show here pictures of other exhibitions of furniture which have been held over the years in High Wycombe.

Visitors await the formal opening of the High Wycombe & District Furniture Trades Exhibition at the Town Hall in Queen Victoria Rd, October 1954. This was first such event since the last Wycombe Month exhibitions held in Sept 1938:

During her visit to the town in April 1962 the Queen went to the Town Hall to view an exhibition of furniture associated with High Wycombe. Here she is talking to the Mayor, Cllr D J Hann:

In 1995 Wycombe Museum arranged an exhibition of 1940s memorabilia to mark the fiftieth anniversary of the start of WW2, which included utensils and furniture in a pre-war kitchen setting. Courtesy of Wycombe Museum:

The High Wycombe & District Furniture Trades Exhibition at the Town Hall in October 1954, the first held since 1938, was opened by TV announcer Donald Gray. Televisions were featured at the exhibition and the first local TV transmission was demonstrated in a link from Wycombe Abbey to the Town Hall in Queen Victoria Rd:
