A Marlow car crash victim has launched a High Court legal battle for compensation of more than £200,000 for the injuries he received.

A writ issued at London’s High Court and recently made publicly available says that George Hill was a back seat passenger in a car driven by Tyrell Murray, from Loudwater, which collided head on with a 4x4 in Chapman Lane, Flackwell Heath.

Mr Hill, now 20, was a teenager aged just 16 when the accident happened on October 29, 2016.

After the crash, he was rushed to Wexham Park Hospital with injuries including a broken left thigh, a severely injured right thumb, damage to his liver and his right lung, and lacerations to his face.

He needed surgery on his leg and remained in hospital until November 7. He underwent occupational therapy as well as using crutches and undergoing physiotherapy, but still has ongoing symptoms and limitations as a result of his injuries, the writ says.

It says that Mr Murray, of Berkeley Road, was later convicted of two counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving when he appeared Aylesbury Crown Court on August 18, 2017.

Now Mr Hill, of Westhorpe Park in Marlow, is suing Mr Murray for compensation for his injuries. Mr Murray admitted liability for the accident on December 20, 2017, according to the papers - but the court will be asked to decide the level of compensation Mr Hill should receive.

The writ accuses Mr Murray of driving too fast, failing to control his vehicle to avoid a collision, failing to see the ongoing vehicle, and failing to keep a proper lookout.

Mr Murray, who was driving a black Ford Fiesta, is also accused of negligently failing to take any care for his passengers and fellow road users, and causing the collision when he could have avoided it by using reasonable care and skill.
