Marlow Elves are supporting volunteers and residents affected by coronavirus pandemic

Ran by the Marlow Life Facebook group and the Marlow Bottom Facebook group the charity started as a Christmas gift drive but now is looking to help residents affected by the pandemic.

The charity asks for donations through their GoFundMe page and have already hit their initial targets.

The charity organisers said: “We have hit the original target! Thank you so much to each and every one of you for donating.

“We appreciate that times are difficult for many - any donation you can make would be amazing.

Residents who are recently bereaved or suffering from mental health issues exacerbated by the coronavirus pandemic have been receiving care packages from the Marlow Elves charity.

The charity are also supporting the elderly and vulnerable, who have had little social contact during the pandemic.

Zoom calls have been organised with these residents to give them an opportunity to talk to others with the aim for once restrictions ease to commute to these visits!

The project is also looking to help volunteers at the Adams Park & Globe Park vaccination centre by organising lunches to be delivered to the centres.

Local businesses have also got on board donating the meals to the vaccine centres.

Valencia Supper Club donated 40 paellas, Marlow Pizza donated pizzas to staff and volunteers at Adams Park, and BASTE sent burgers to the clinic at Globe Park.

The charity is also buying many supplies from local traders so not only support the residents are supported but local businesses too.
