Marlow pubs from the 1970s

This first picture, taken in 1973, shows the front of the Two Brewers, looking north along St Peters Street.

Thought to be the town’s oldest pub, it has been serving Marlovians since 1755 and still stands proud.

This second photo, also from 1973, shows The Carpenters Arms and the northern side of Spittal Street.

The pub is now The Butcher’s Tap, owned by celebrity chef Tom Kerridge - it is a traditional butcher’s shop and watering hole rolled into one.
