A phone scam has been circulating around Marlow with the caller claiming to be a councillor.

The caller pretending to be Cllr Tim Avery is asking residents to support the stopping of banks closing on Marlow High Street.

After asking residents to sign the petition the caller promises to send more information by post and that they will call again.

A few days later again another call is made but this time claiming to be the resident's bank asking for their bank details.

The caller’s number is withheld.

Marlow Town Council has confirmed it is not Cllr Tim Avery making these calls and if residents identify the caller's number to contact the police.
