On February 19 dog Leon was Stolen from the Horton Wood on Winchbottom Lane near Little Marlow leaving the owners distraught.

After weeks of searching, Leon has finally been reunited with his owner, Emily Jane Barker, earlier this week after a gamekeeper found him in a nearby field.

Leon had been microchipped and was placed with a stolen marker.

He has also been neutered meaning you are unable to breed from him.

The gamekeeper believes that Leon had only been dumped in the field just off Coldharbour Lane the night before he was found.

Emily revealed that Leon has lost a little bit of weight but apart from that he's very happy to be home.

She told the Bucks Free Press: "He wouldn’t come to the gamekeeper, James, so he called us and we raced down there and walked about until we found him.

"Our other dog Lev actually found him, but it took him a while to come over to my partner.

"Once he got our scent, he was very very happy to see us. Apart from being a bit hungry, he was fine!"

Emily has also thanked all local residents who have helped in the search for Leon whilst he was away from home.

She continued: “We’re slowly replying to all messages and thanking people.

“We have walked round the rye today and removed some posters and we’ll need to do many more and happily!

“We are so thankful for everyone’s help, encouragement, suggestions and support.”
