After a letter has been sent to homes about a proposed "quietway” trial on Trinity Road, Marlow residents have reacted to the trial period.

As part of the proposed scheme, additional signage will be installed to improve integration with the existing cycle route through the park, which joins Trinity Road, and lining on the road within the area of the point closures will be refreshed.

The “quietway” would be for an initial trial duration of six months.

One resident said on Facebook: “It’s not quite when I pick my kids up from school. I think this is a great idea”

Another added: “Fantastic news. It’s amazing how fast people drive along there.”

Someone else said: “It’s a quiet road anyway and can easily be blocked off to traffic without any inconvenience to anyone!”

Whilst another applauded the idea: “Excellent idea. It is so dangerous for school children at the moment.”

Buckinghamshire Council has been approached by the South West Chilterns Community Board after being awarded £514,000 by the Department for Transport for a programme of temporary active travel schemes across the County.

These temporary schemes are trials, with the aim of helping people to make local journeys on foot or by bike for travelling to work, schools, shopping and leisure activities.

Other places such as Amersham, Aylesbury, Buckingham, Chalfont St Peter to Gerrards, Haddenham, and High Wycombe are part of the initial plans of the scheme.
