A man who tried to escape out of a window after police raided a house and found cocaine stashed under the sink has been jailed.

Fayaz Zaman, of St Catherine’s Court in Aylesbury, was arrested as he tried to flee from police who swooped on a house in Fairford Leys on December 9 last year.

Police seized 269 grams of cocaine which was found hidden under the sink in the Fairford Leys property.

When officers attended the address in Prebendal Farm Estatewent, they found £14,000 in one of the bedrooms.

He pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of cocaine and was jailed for five and a half years.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Laurie Twine of the Aylesbury Stronghold team, said: “This conviction is yet another example of how the Stronghold team will tirelessly pursue anybody involved in organised crime.

“This sentence should serve as a warning to those who mistakenly believe that they are untouchable.

“Zaman will now have a long time in prison to reflect on his decisions.
