A vigil to make Bucks streets safe for women amid an ongoing murder probe into the death of Sarah Everard has been called off this evening.
Women in Amersham were due to meet at the NatWest bank, in Hill Avenue, at 6pm tonight in memory of Ms Everard, who disappeared on her walk home from her friend’s house in south London on March 3, and is now the subject of a tragic murder investigation.
Women were going to be meeting in solidarity with Ms Everard and her family, but the vigil has now been called off.
Raven Social, an organisation that was involved in the vigil, said: "Thames Valley Police are strongly advising against it due to Covid regulations.
"Instead, shine a light on your doorstep at 9.30pm to remember Sarah Everard and all women affected by and lost to violence."
