"Essential and expensive" work to repair one of Beaconsfield's main roads is expected to cause traffic "chaos".
Ledborough Lane in Beaconsfield desperately needs repairs, so Transport for Bucks will be carrying out reconstruction works from Thursday, March 18.
The work is expected to take up to nine weeks using a road closure.
Ledborough Lane joins the A355 to the New Town and is one of the busiest routes in Beaconsfield.
Council leader Martin Tett said the work is "very expensive" but needs to be done.
Despite the nightmare traffic situation the work could cause, residents and those who use the road regularly are overjoyed that it is being carried out.
On Twitter, Michelle Benato said: "Traffic chaos will ensue, but it's very much needed."
Caroline Rouse added: "Hooray - the repaired road will transform my journey to do the weekly shop!"
And Alison Wheelhouse added: "The road is in a terrible state."
