A person who unexpectedly left their home ‘with suicidal thoughts’, has been found by Thames Valley Police.

In the late hours of Monday, March 15/early hours of Tuesday, March 16, the police received a call explaining that the person had gone missing and that their ‘whereabouts was unknown.’

However, a thorough search, TVP confirmed that the person in question has been found and that they are ‘getting and help and support’.

They found the person after checking vehicles that have been reportedly linked to the catalytic converter thefts in the county.

In a post that was published on Facebook on the morning of Tuesday, March 16, they said: “We then attended a report of an individual who had left their home address suffering with suicidal thoughts and their whereabouts was unknown.

“Thankfully with the assistance of our roads policing colleagues and our eyes in the sky we safely located the individual and they are now on the road to recovery and getting the much-needed help and support they need.

“We urge anyone who is suffering mentally to talk to friends/family/GP or even us.

“We work alongside mental health services and have mental health triage nurses who work with us 365 days a year to provide professional support to those who find times tough.”

According to the Samaritans website, there were 5,691 suicides in England and Wales in 2019, which is 321 more compared to the year before [2018].
