Schoolchildren across Bucks got into the spirit of Red Nose Day on Friday to raise money for Comic Relief.

Students at The Highcrest Academy took part in a non-uniform day with a difference as they stayed in separate ‘bubbles’ in different areas of the High Wycombe school.

They supported the charity by buying red noses and are thought to have raised more than £800.

Assistant headteacher Joe Clarke, who ran an online assembly for Comic Relief on the day, said: “It was a wonderful effort by everyone concerned, especially given the challenges thrown up by social isolation.

“Pupils and staff were really keen to help this great cause and went to great lengths to ensure the day was a success.

“We don’t yet have a final total, but we believe we have raised more than £800 which is magnificent.”
