This week, Beaconsfield MP Joy Morrissey writes exclusively to Bucks Free Press readers:

With our vaccine rollout going from strength to strength, and our children safely back in schools, I am sure that many of us are looking on with anticipation at the next steps of our unlock.

From Monday groups of up to six people will be able to meet outdoors in private or public, paving the way for outdoor family reunions this Easter.

This will come as a source of much needed joy and happiness for many as those who are vulnerable and will have been protected by the vaccine.

Moving past this we are closing in on another big day in our national unlock, 12th April.

This will at last see non-essential stores, hairdressers and barbers, gyms, sports facilities, and outdoor hospitality re-open after over three months closed.

There is a lot I am looking forward to, like grabbing a drink again at many of the pubs across Beaconsfield such as the Swan or the Saracens where alfresco dinning and outdoor eating will be going ahead in time for summer, weather permitting of course.

My daughter is particularly looking forward to the reopening of toy stores, especially JJ Toys in Gerrards Cross, where she always enjoys hunting for a new favourite.

For me though it has to be some of the constituency’s great boutiques like Winser in Marlow and Lisa La Moda in Gerrards Cross.

The point is that no matter what you have been missing there is so much to look forward to in the coming weeks that will also help support our local businesses and high street, and will help support Buckinghamshire on it’s road to recovery.
