Bucks is basking in glorious sunshine – just as lockdown restrictions start to ease.

It comes as the UK records its highest March temperature in 53 years after the mercury soared to 24.2°C, with the record broken in London’s St James’s Park this afternoon, according to the Met Office.

And Bucks is certainly getting its share of the sun, with residents making the most of the good weather and easing of Covid restrictions.

People can now meet outside with up to six people or as a group of two households – and many residents took advantage of the new rules as they basked in the glorious sunshine with friends.

Pictures from The Rye, in High Wycombe, and Higginson Park, in Marlow, show residents gathering to enjoy the sun and see friends again.

Residents are being urged to stick to the rules as the warm weather continues, with the Prime Minister telling people to enjoy the warm weather safely and “proceed with caution”.
