An ‘illegal’ bike was seized by police in Chesham.

Thames Valley Police’s roads policing team seized an off-road mini moto while patrolling the town.

They said the rider had no insurance or licence, and has been reported for the offences.

A spokesman said: “The bike [was] seized under #Section165RTA and prevents further anti-social riding in the area.”

According to the Trading Standards Institute, most mini motos, quad bikes and other off-road vehicles cannot legally be ridden on the road, or used on pavements, footpaths, cycle paths, common land or other public areas.

They can only be ridden legally on dedicated sites or private land, with the landowner’s permission.
