Lockdown has been devastating in many ways – but the one thing it has curbed is pollution, which has made our skies clear.
This week, a nationwide star count by countryside charity CPRE found five per cent of people enjoyed truly dark skies – with 30 or more stars visible within the Orion constellation – which is the highest figure since 2013.
So we asked our talented Camera Club members to share their favourite photos of starry skies over Bucks.
A number of them captured the Neowise Comet seen last year – considered the brightest comet visible from the Northern Hemisphere since 1997’s Hale-Bopp – while others snapped star trails from their back gardens.
