As coronavirus lockdown restrictions ease the shops and part of the hospitality sector have been able to reopen.

Queues were seen in a busy town centre in High Wycombe this morning as shops reopened. 

As well as non-essential shops, gyms and hairdressers reopening pubs have also been able to have customers back outside for food and drink.

But there are still these Covid measures in place:

  • You must follow the rule of six or be in a group with only two households present.
  • Customers must order, eat and drink while seated at a table.
  • If you are aged 16 you will have to check in to NHS test and trace, or provide contact details.
  • When not seated customers should wear face masks (unless exempt) and observe social distancing

Even though these rules are in place pubs have started to open today so here is a list of the top five pubs on Trip Advisor.

FIFTH: The Old Millwrights Arms, Aylesbury

The Old Millwrights Arms is a fantastic local pub serving a great selection of real ales, craft beers, and Barrel & Stone stone-baked pizzas and piadinas.

Usually, the pub holds regular events, including a very popular quiz night each Thursday

There is also a selection of premium spirits, including some great gins, rums, and whiskies.

A secret garden area that is dog-friendly can be enjoyed on hot summer days.

Coming in with a four out of five ratings The Old Millwrights Arms is one to think about if you crave pizza.

FOURTH: The General Havelock, High Wycombe

This pub has Master Cellerman status as they always offer at least six real ales at one time.

Based in High Wycombe, there's a spacious beer garden used to enjoy drinks under the sun.

The Sunday lunch also left a lot of people leaving positive feedback with one person saying: “We had Sunday lunch here with friends and can honestly say it’s the best Sunday roast I’ve had in ages. The staff is incredibly friendly and really helpful.”

THIRD: The Swan, Great and Little Kimble

The third pub on our list is The Swan in Little Kimble, a small village around five miles south of Aylesbury.

A traditional 1840-era pub has a vintage brick-and-wood bar serving local brews and single-malt whiskey

There are also rooms available which offer Free, full English breakfast is served in the warm dining room.

SECOND: Heidrun, High Wycombe

Heidrun only opened in 2016 and they focus on quality foods & craft beers all to be served in a relaxed and friendly environment.

Set just off Wycombe’s highstreet the taproom has won raved reviews from residents.

Offering top quality food alongside craft beers one customer said: “Great food, great selection of drinks and great service - it definitely sets the bar high! If you’re in the area, definitely worth a visit.”

Another added: “I can understand why this bar is such a highly rated place, especially with the great selection of beers and staff, will definitely be back.”

FIRST: The Bell, Chearsley

Top of the podium is The Bell in Chearsley, which boasts a large beer garden that customers will be hoping will open as soon as possible.

There’s a great home-cooked pub menu that uses locally sourced fresh produce.

The pub pride itself on maintaining a consistently well kept Fuller's ales, which we accompany with a well-chosen wine list.

One review said: “Wow, what a lovely village pub. We came on a Saturday night for a meal, the food was great and very reasonably priced. They had a great range of beers with five ales on tap, all of which were again very reasonably priced for such a charming location. The staff could not have been more welcoming and organised. The place also had a really lovely atmosphere, thoroughly pleasant experience, we will be coming again.”
