A MAJOR overhaul of High Heavens Household Recycling Centre that will see the existing Dano building demolished in favour of a new facility and several other key operations implemented, including new operating hours, has been approved.

Bucks Council has green lit a proposal to demolish the Dano building at High Heavens and having once reconfigured the entire Clay Lane site, build a new food waste handling facility.

The plans received unanimous support during a Strategic Sites Committee, on April 8.

As part of its plans, the authority will also build a new site office at High Heavens.

Plans also include 12 new waste handling bays for green, glass, wood, and bulky waste, and two weighbridges.

Some hardstanding, a soil bund, and fencing are also planned. A 26-space car park is too.

No changes are proposed to site access from Clay Lane.

Operational hours will be Mondays to Fridays 7:30am-6pm, Saturdays 8am-5pm, and Sundays 8:30am-1pm.

Great Marlow Parish Council objected to the scheme.
