Which records have been broken in our county, however?

Below are some of the incredible feats recorded in Buckinghamshire over the years recorded by the prestigious reference book.

Most cricket runs between the wickets in 12 hours (team)

Buckingham Town Cricket Club ran a staggering 6,805 runs on August 30, 2020.

186 individual participants completed the runs to raise money for charity, convering a total distance of 136,894 metres.

Fastest half marathon dressed as a clown

With a time of hr 28 min 57 sec,  Louis Sanford achieved this feat at the Eton Dorney Half Marathon on November 17, 2018.

Largest cinematic rear projection

This record was achieved at Pinewood Studios in Iver Heath, verified on August 15, 2016.

The projection took place on a screen measuring 146.83 m².

Largest Christmas cracker

The longest Christmas cracker measured 63.1m and was made by the parents of children at Ley Hill School and Pre-School, Chesham,

The record was set on December 20, 2001.

The cracker was pulled by children of the school and members of Saracens Rugby Club.

Most weight lifted by kettlebell swings in 12 hours (team)

Claudia Cooke, Stuart Wilson, Alison Bird, Kat Shaw, Shane McCall, Russell Goldman, Michael Reader, Gareth Lloyd, Mike Whitty, Nicola Risk-Jones, Ben Jones (all UK) and Robert Kowalski (Poland) completed this record again in Amersham.

The team managed to lift a total of 711,940kg.

Most magic tricks underwater in three minutes

Martin Rees completed 20 tricks underwater at Pinewood Studios on October 28, 2020.

Most chin ups in 24 hours

Idai Makaya managed to complete 5,340 chin ups in Milton Keynes on Seotember 25-26, 2020.

Most badminton counter hits in one minute (team of two)

Greg Mairs and Jenny Moore achieved this record in Milton Keynes, on August 30, 2020.

Th two professional players racked up a total of 161 hits.

Greatest height to flick and control a football (soccer ball) with the neck

Football freestyler Daniel Cutting achieved flicked the ball six metres in the air, despite very windy and wet conditions, on October 11, 2019.

Greatest distance cycled in a month, male (WUCA)

Steven Abraham cycled an average of 236.81 miles a day between September 2 and October 10, 2016.

Steven used three bikes and cycled several routes around his hometown of Milton Keynes.
