The body of a 47-year-old woman has been discovered in Aylesbury.

The police and the fire department were called to a property on the Oxford Road in the town at around 10am on Friday, April 16.

This comes after a report of a concern for the welfare of a woman was made to the authorities.

However, after arriving, it was confirmed that the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

A statement from Thames Valley Police said: “Officers attended with the fire service.

"Sadly, a 47-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

"The death is not being treated as suspicious and her next of kin have been informed.

"They are being supported.

"A file will be prepared for the coroner.

"We have completed a mandatory referral to the IOPC following the incident."
