A man in his eighties suffered a medical emergency in the swimming pool at Wycombe Leisure Centre this morning.
An air ambulance, a South Central Ambulance Service ambulance and two rapid response vehicles were called to the Marlow Hill leisure centre after receiving a 999 call at 10.54am.
Trained lifeguards had carried out immediate first aid after the man had suffered a medical emergency.
The man, in his eighties, was given treatment at the scene by ambulance crews and was then taken to Wexham Park Hospital by road ambulance, with the air ambulance team travelling by road with them.
He was in a serious but stable condition.
The swimming pool had to be evacuated while the incident was ongoing.
