An elderly couple were taken to hospital after crashing into a stationery lorry in Loudwater this afternoon.

The crash led to all three emergency services attending the scene and the road being closed to allow for the pair to be rescued from the vehicle.

A South Central Ambulance Service spokesperson told the Bucks Free Press: "We received a 999 call at 14:29 with the caller reporting a collision between a car and a stationery lorry on London Road, Loudwater.

"We sent two ambulances, a paramedic team leader in a rapid response vehicle and the Thames Valley Air Ambulance critical care response vehicle to the incident.

"There was an elderly couple in the car who had sustained serious arm injuries, and following initial treatment at the scene both were then taken to Wexham Park Hospital for further treatment."
