A six-month trial of a "quietway" was launched yesterday in Marlow after 1,000 letters were distributed to residents by the council - but only 68 people responded positively about it.
The Trinity Road plan is part of an 'active travel' trial scheme, costing £514,000, being rolled out across the county in a bid to encourage walking and cycling.
There has been a mixed reaction to the scheme including the road closure to Trinity Road in Marlow that came into effect yesterday.

Buckinghamshire Council confirmed that 68 people responded positively to the initial 1,000 letters they sent out for feedback, with some residents believing more local support for the road closure is needed.
Marlow resident Renee Sears said: “On the strength of 68 people supporting the closure of a very important road, the trial scheme has been implemented.
“Utterly disgraceful.”
There were 38 who opposed the scheme and nine who were neutral.
A total of 885 residents did not respond to the letters.
A spokesperson for Buckinghamshire Council said: “With the support expressed by the South West Chilterns Community Board, Marlow Town Council, Transition Town Marlow and local councillors together with the responses we received from the local consultation, there was clear appetite for a six-month trial of this active travel scheme.
"Now the temporary measures have been installed, the important thing going forward is that people keep their comments coming in about how it’s working in practice and any suggestions for additional improvements.”
The scheme was finally launched yesterday with decorative planters at the junction of Wethered Road and Trinity Road and bollard posts towards the Dean Street Car Park end of Trinity Road.These are placed north of residential homes and businesses to ensure existing vehicle access is maintained for all properties along Trinity Road.
Access to the Dean Street car park is still maintained.
