Heavy rain and strong winds are expected to hit Bucks this afternoon, making Bank Holiday Monday a wash-out.

The Met Office has put a yellow weather warning in place for the south east between 12pm today (Monday) and 9am tomorrow, warning of "disruptive" winds.

And the Chilterns Weather Alerts team say a large area of low pressure is approaching the UK, which will cause bad weather.

They said: "The rain should arrive by 1-2pm and it will be heavy, lasting for a good 7-8 hours. The other feature will be the wind, we will see gusts of 55-63mph and this is likely to cause some damage. Winds are due to peak from 6pm-10pm. Temperatures will reach 10°.

"This evening and tonight will be a wash out with very strong winds and rain. The main system should clear by midnight but will be followed by patches of drizzle. Temperatures staying mild, lows of 6-7°."

They added we can expect some sunny spells tomorrow.
