Located next to several houses and a country road in Hughenden Valley, the Harrow is home to its loyal regulars, as well as customers who pass through the area.

And with the establishment being dog friendly, and with the weather starting to improve, it will be no surprise to see numerous animals stretching their four legs this summer.

Number Four, The Jolly Farmer, Chalfont St Peter

Based on Gold Hill West, the Jolly Farmer has proven to a popular hot point for those who live in the area, due to their food, selection of drinks and customer service whilst also being dog-friendly.

The establishment is closed until stage three restrictions are lifted on May 17, but even so, many people are looking forward to when the venue reopens.

And with the pub being ranked as the number one bar and restaurant in Chalfont St Peter, customers will be counting down the days for when the doors reopen to the public.

One reviewer on the website said: “Food was delicious, staff were friendly and attentive.

Number Three, The Black Horse Inn, Chesham

Ranked as the number one bar in Chesham and the second best restaurant in the town, the Black Horse Inn certainly knows how to treat their customers well, whilst offering a brilliant service to dogs.

The pub has scored an impressive 341 reviews with 220 of them being rated as ‘excellent’ whilst 76 of them are ‘very good’.

And with a fine selection of food, drink, and doggy treats, this is certainly one for you and your pooch to try out.

This reviewer said: “My friend just got a puppy so for our twice-yearly meet up we needed to find a dog friendly pub.

"I did a quick Google search and the Black Horse came up so we thought we would give it a go.

“The pub is lovely and quiet with a decent amount of dining tables.

“We didn’t have a booking, so we only had the table for an hour and a half which was more than enough time to eat.

“Dogs are allowed inside the pub so we settled into a comfortable table.

“It was delicious and great value for money.

“I would happily return to the Black Horse.

Number Two, The Swan Inn, Denham

Situated in Village Road, the Swan Inn in Denham is somewhat of a hidden gem as the pub sits quietly surrounded by houses.

Yet, despite its clandestine spot, the venue has achieved a whopping 582 reviews on Trip Advisor, with 227 being ‘excellent’ and 195 being ‘very good'.

And of course, with it being dog friendly, the village pub is very popular amongst those who walk their furry friends in and around the area.

This reviewer said: “I keep coming back here for the atmosphere, the great food and the outside garden space.

“The staff are relaxed and friendly, the food is varied and beautifully prepared, the Saturday Brunch a particular favourite with their American buttermilk pancake with banana and maple yogurt.”

Number One, The Royal Oak, Marlow

Recovering from a horrific fire that badly damaged the venue just before the pandemic hit, the Royal Oak in Marlow is now back in business.

And following their grand reopening in the summer of 2020, they are looking to put the madness of the autumn of 2019 behind them, with a new-look venue.

However, regardless of their revamp, the Frieth Road boozer has been known to be one of the best pubs in Marlow, as well as the whole county, with numerous people from the Bucks/Berks border visiting the establishment.

And with it being dog-friendly, this is just another reason why the Royal Oak is held in such high-demand.

On their website, they said: “As a dog-friendly pub you may need to be aware of our four-legged friends sat at their master’s feet and by tables.

“It does mean, of course, that disability assistance dogs are very welcome.”

On Trip Advisor, this reviewer said: “Went for a special birthday lunch and found the food and service to be excellent!

"Vegetarian and vegan options were available and were all delicious!

"Thoroughly recommended."
