A Marlow-based IT company is running its headquarters exclusively off renewable energy.

Softcat has offices in London, Glasgow, Leeds, Bristol and Manchester offices but their Marlow office is the first to run on renewable energy.

The company now aims to implement this in all their offices around the UK by 2024.

Achieving its commitment to become a carbon-neutral organisation Alastair Wynn, Operations Director at Softcat, hope that these sustainability actions can “protect the planet for future generations.

He said: “Social responsibility isn't a particular programme, it should be what we do every day, maximising positive impact and minimising negative impact.

“We want to be known as an organisation that allies socially responsible actions with successful business operations to benefit people, deliver sustainable performance and protect the planet for future generations.

Also as part of Softcat’s sustainability effort the organization will upgrade its pool car fleet to electric battery vehicles.

By 2040, Softcat aims to achieve a carbon net-zero supply chain inclusive of all its suppliers and partners.
