A MISSING dog was discovered in the river near where she went missing.

The owners of 13-year-old Border Terrier Poppy were last week desperately appealing for her safe return after she disappeared in a field near the cricket pitch at Cutteslowe Park on May 6.

The beige pup was on special medication and specific food to keep her alive and her worried owner Arabella said she would ‘not survive very long without it’.

But in a devastating update yesterday, her family said she was found drowned in a culvert in the fields north of Cutteslowe.

They believe Poppy became disorientated on her way back to the park when she went into the hedge.

They thanked everybody who searched for her on their walks and the community, which rallied together to support the family.
