A MAN has admitted breaking a sign that tells shoppers at the Westgate Centre to keep a '2m distance'. 

Tommy Holmes appeared in the dock of Oxford Magistrates' Court on April 20.

The 19-year-old, of Saunders Road, Oxford, pleaded guilty to criminal damage after breaking the sign on March 22. 

He also admitted using threatening or abusive words or behaviour likely to cause distress on the same day at the Queen Street mall. 

At court, he was ordered to pay compensation of £30 and was fined £92. 

He must also pay a victim surcharge of £34 and court costs of £85.
