Get your diaries out - because Bucks is set for a packed programme of festivals this summer as Covid-29 restrictions lift.

Many residents have been looking forward to the freedom loosened lockdown restrictions will bring, and as we head towards some semblance of normality, a string of events are being prepared to welcome us all back.

Here are just some of the amazing festivals and events that are coming to a town near you this summer.

The Chilterns Arts Festival - May 21 to 27

Missed live classical music? The Chilterns Arts Festival will be brining the joy of live music to various venues across the region, including the spectacular All Saints Church in Marlow and St Mary's Church in Princes Risborough.

Social distancing and other safety measures, including hand sanitising stations and one-way systems, will be in place to keep everyone safe.

FrogFest Lite - May 29 to 31

Get ready for a safe return of the annual High Wycombe town centre spectacle, FrogFest.

The special FrogFest Lite edition will be held across the entire May Bank Holiday weekend, with music and entertainment planned throughout, along with concert screenings, a giant LED screen in Frogmoor and a live acoustic stage in the High Street.

No pre-booking is necessary and it is free to attend.

The Chilterns Walking Festival - May 21 to June 6 and October 16 to 31

Celebrate the fantastic scenery, countryside, heritage, food and drink and local businesses which make up this area of outstanding natural beauty.

It includes over 70 guided walks, events and activities so there's bound to be something for everyone to enjoy. These include activities centred around nature reserves, iron age hillforts, farms, churches and filming locations.

Humble Country Fayre - June 18 and 19

Held at the Claydon Estate, more than 70 small businesses will be selling gifts, boutique homewares and accessories, along with food and drink. It is outdoor and Covid-safe in the stunning walled gardens of the estate.

Boodles Tennis - June 22 to 26

It is once again time to dress up and see your favourite tennis players perform on home soil at Stoke Park as they prepare for Wimbledon.

The Boodles 2021 is to be classed as an international event because it welcomes tennis stars from around the world, so it will be allowed to operate with stringent guidelines.

Bucks Culture Open Weekend - July 22 to 25

Celebrating and showcasing the diverse range of culture and creativity in Buckinghamshire with tours, trails, music, performances, exhibitions and activities.

In 2021, Open Weekend will have the theme of stories – sharing, collecting and celebrating stories of residents and our county in creative ways.

Glamp-Ridge - July 9 to 11

Fancy some glamping? Big Top Events will be hosting this mini festival at Dean Farm Meadows in Bledlow Ridge.

There will be live music, catering, outdoor cinema and a silent disco, as well as guided walks, yoga and pizza.

PennFest - July 23 and 24

If you can't get enough of live music, PennFest is making a welcome return to Penn Street in July. Headliners this year include Craig David, Razorlight, Ella Eyre, Big Narstie, Rag n Bone Man, The Charlatans and Artful Dodger.

The two-day family-friendly music festival held near the picturesque village of Penn Street will celebrate its 10th anniversary this year.

AutoRoyale and Chilli Fest at Waddesdon Manor - various dates

Waddesdon Manor has a whole host of exciting events going on this year, including Auto Royal - a car event which has been more than two years in the making.

Modern British culture will meet world-class automotive machinery in the luxurious settings of Waddesdon, with a feast of fine food, exciting entertainment and engaging retailing from July 16 to 18.

Meanwhile, turn up the heat at the annual chilli festival held in the gardens.

Kop Hill Climb - September 25 and 26

From family fun to Ferraris and Dodgems to DeLoreans, the Kop Hill Climb is all about the noise, the crowds and excitement.

The popular annual event - which draws in crowds of thousands - raises cash for local charities and projects.

While you can sit for hours watching an array of classic vehicles storm the iconic hill, there is also music, stalls, food and shopping to enjoy.
