An axe-wielding man who assaulted a police officer in a ‘sustained attack’ in Buckinghamshire was spared jail.
Connor Goring, aged 28, of Leaberry in Milton Keynes was given a 19-week prison sentence after he pleaded guilty to two offences which took place on December 30, 2019.
At a hearing at High Wycombe Magistrates Court on January 6, Goring was convicted of assault by beating of a police officer and possessing a bladed article.
The court heard how Goring had assaulted a police officer in a “sustained attack”.
He was also punished for possessing a bladed article without good reason – an axe with a black handle – in Barbers Mews in Milton Keynes.
Goring received a three-week sentence for the assault charge and a further 16-week sentence for possession of the axe, all suspended for 18 months.
The offender will also have to complete 60 hours of unpaid work and will have to pay £100 compensation on top of £207 costs.
