The theme this week is the Nag’s Head pub located in the London Road, opposite the Rye.
The building has now been converted into apartments but it is best known for the music gigs that were held in the large room on the first floor in 60s/70s/and 80s.
Many up-and-coming bands played there.
However, as explained in the main Nostalgia article, the Nag’s Head has a long and interesting history.
First licensed as a “beerhouse” in 1842, for over 150 years it played a big part in the social life of the town.
