LOCALS are keen to see that a “dangerous” patch of road which floods during bad weather is remedied once and for all – especially after a politician said it was being addressed.

Road users said they hoped an area of the A413 near Bailey Hill Farm in Chalfont St Giles which floods during heavy rainfall would finally be cured – in response to recent action taken by Cllr Carl Jackson.

Cllr Jackson said he had alerted Transport for Bucks (TfB) to the flooded area approaching a bend, which one local said “proves bothersome”, especially for those unfamiliar with the area and those driving in the dark.

It is thought the area became flooded after recent heavy downpours which is not escaping into the drains.

One member of the public said they hoped it would be “sorted properly” after the same spot was closed ‘for three days only a few months ago’ for similar reasons.

“I make this trip daily and it proves bothersome for many – especially for those who are unfamiliar with the road and for those driving in the dark. Great to see something is being done about this,” one person tweeted.

“Last time they closed the road for three days and that was only a few months ago. Hope it’s sorted properly this time,” wrote another.

“I have spoken to @tfbalerts this morning about the dangerous flooding on the A413 near Bailey Hill Farm,” tweeted Cllr Jackson on Tuesday (May 18).

He added: “This is now being dealt with by the TfB Emergency Team.”

Bucks Council was approached for further comment.
