A man has been disqualified from driving after he pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, drug driving and driving without insurance in Beaconsfield.

Irfan Hussain, 35, of Herrick Road, Birmingham, was sentenced following a hearing at Oxford Crown on Friday, May 28, 2021.

On Tuesday, 9 July 2019, Hussain, was driving a VW Golf along the M40 Southbound at around Junction 10.

Officers spotted him, he was driving at speed and when officers from our Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit went to pull him over, he failed to stop.

He continued at speed weaving in out of traffic and driving close to other vehicles.

Officers pursued him and at Junction 3 Beaconsfield they boxed him in which caused damage to police vehicles and the Golf.

No one was injured as a result, with Hussain being arrested and charged by postal notification on Wednesday, 8 January, 2020.

During sentencing, Hussain was also ordered to pay a fine of £800.

In total, he was disqualified for three years and six months

Investigating officer, PC Brian Perry of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit, based at Howes Lane, said: “There is no place on the public roads for the sort of driving displayed by Hussain on our roads, which was made even more shocking that he was driving whilst under the influence of drugs.

“The dangers of using excessive speed and driving whilst under the influence are well known and the consequences of doing so can be deadly.

“Thames Valley Police officers work tirelessly to make the roads safe for members of the public and this conviction reflects the hard work of many of the officers that do this on a daily basis.”
