Gerrards Cross Bowls Club recently enjoyed busy week with numerous guests visiting the establishment.

River Radio presenters in Nikky Smart and James Mulchrone visited the club, as they were given a masterclass intuition from Commonwealth medallist, John McGuinness.

Nikky, who co-hosts the Morning Brew slot for River Radio, said: “I didn’t realize just how fantastically skilful bowls is.

“Coming to Gerrards Cross has changed all my perceptions about the game.”

Another local face who visited the club in recent weeks is actor and comedian Jeff Stevenson.

The 60-year-old from Hammersmith came to be introduced to the game under the watchful eye of England manager Kirk Smith, and was reportedly ‘singing the praises of the club’ to his friends.

On the field, Gerrards Cross provided half of the players representing Bucks in their win against Surrey recently, which included a debut for footballer, Mark McGuinness.

The 20-year-old, who is currently on the books at Arsenal, spent the previous season on loan at Ipswich Town in League One, where he played 25 matches across all competitions, scoring once.

Finally, in domestic competitions, Gerrards Cross, comfortably beat Richings Park in the Bucks Cup in a doubleheader friendly against Court Park, defeating them both home and away.
