This is what you have been writing to us about this week.
I very much support the views of the two letter writers regarding e-scooters in your last edition (BFP, May 28).
I suspect that most of our older citizens are, like me, not about to risk life and limb by hurtling along urban pavements on a narrow piece of metal balanced on two wheels.
However, given the critical health and obesity crisis identified by the Prime Minister and health ministers during the current epidemic, why are our public authorities getting behind a project that encourages younger people to take the ‘lazy option’?
Local councils should be putting their increasingly scarce resources into walking and cycling initiatives to promote healthy choices.
Motorised wheels of all sorts are increasingly looking like the wrong way to go.
