A Range Rover driver who was caught driving through High Wycombe at nearly three times the legal drink-drive limit has been fined more than £2,500.

At a hearing at Wycombe Magistrates’ Court on June 21, Mitchell McDonagh, aged 26, pleaded guilty to drink driving.

The court heard how on Friday, May 28, McDonagh was driving a Range Rover Evoque while drunk along the A404 in Wycombe.

Police conducted a breath test on McDonagh, who is of Poplar Avenue in West Drayton, and found he was nearly three times over the legal limit.

The breath test reading showed that McDonagh had 102 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 micrograms.

Magistrates ordered McDonagh to pay a £2,560 fine for the offence. He was also banned from driving for two years and one month.

McDonagh will also have to pay £175 costs.
