Kokoro Sushi could be opening up in the centre of High Wycombe - the latest in a string exciting restaurants heading into town.

The old Thomas Cook estate agents in White Hart Street - which is next door to the recently-opened Creams dessert parlour - could be transformed into a new sushi and Cantonese restaurant.

Kokoro has branches nearby in Reading, Windsor, Oxford and Uxbridge, but this will be the first in Buckinghamshire outside of Milton Keynes.

As well as sushi and sashimi, Kokoro also has a hot food menu, featuring dishes like chicken or tofu katsu curry, sweet and sour chicken, spicy pork, seafood udon, vegetable yakisoba and chicken gyoza.

It also boasts a sides and salads menu.

According to plans submitted to Buckinghamshire Council in June, applicants say the new restaurant will be a "welcome addition to the street scene in terms of the food offer and the quality interior".

If they get the go-ahead, they won't be making too many changes to the building - just updating the shopfront in their turquoise and black colour scheme, adding in new signs and a new kitchen extraction unit at the back.

Inside, there will be 27 seats, a chilled sushi display, serving counter and toilet, with the kitchen out the back of the building.

If the council says yes to the plans, Kokoro will be the latest exciting restaurant that has already, or is set to open, in High Wycombe.

Just next door is the new Creams dessert parlour, while a couple of doors down is the new Wimpy. German Doner Kebab is also opening up in White Hart Street, while Roberto's cafe opened earlier this year in the former Ottakar's book store building.

Fireaway Pizza want to open their doors in nearby Castle Street.
