This week, Beaconsfield MP Joy Morrissey writes exclusively to Bucks Free Press readers:

This week I received some great news that two fantastic schools in Wooburn have received additional funding from central government.

This follows a lengthy campaign from schools and parents across Bucks to secure more funding to help restore and support their buildings and facilities.

The news will be welcome to many parents, teachers, and pupils alike, and underlines my commitment to securing more funding for schools across the constituency, and ensure that they are no longer overlooked, like they have been for too long.

We promised to invest record amounts of money into education at the last election and moving on from the pandemic this investment into our children’s future is more important than ever.

In addition to this I have continued to press for changes to ensure that green spaces across Wooburn are protected.

This includes strengthening protections for agricultural land and pushing to expand the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty region further into South Bucks.

I am also working to protect green spaces by trying to ensure that green field sites which are owned by Buckinghamshire Council are not sold off to developers.

Instead they should be retained and perhaps even enhanced to better our natural environment.

There are a number of sites in Wooburn which would directly benefit from this so rest assured I am working hard to ensure this becomes a reality.
