The five most dangerous streets in High Wycombe have been revealed.

Statistics released by Thames Valley Police for May – the most recent figures available - show that 282 crimes were reported in the town, the joint-most so far this year.

Breaking down where each reported offence took place, we have worked out which of High Wycombe’s streets you should do your best to avoid.

5. A40 Abbey Way underpass – seven offences

A total of seven offences were reported on this section of the A40, all of which occurred in or near the pedestrian underpass beneath the main road.

These offences include anti-social behaviour (two) and public order offences (two).

Anti-social behaviour can include personal, environmental or nuisance offences, while public order offences can include anything which causes fear, alarm or distress like being drunk and disorderly or harassment.

Other offences included violent or sexual offences (two) and criminal damage or arson (one).

4. A404 Crendon Street – eight offences

During May, eight offences were reported on Crendon Street, near to the junction with Castle Street.

The most common offences were violence and sexual offences (six).

One report of burglary and one report of a drug-related crime were also made.

3. Church Square – 11 offences

Home to numerous pubs and eateries, Church Square takes the bronze medal for most dangerous streets in High Wycombe.

Violence and sexual offences (10) were by far the most frequently reported incident in May.

A solitary public order offence was also recorded.

2. A404 Queen Victoria Road – 18 offences

The second worst street for reported offences is home to High Wycombe Police Station and the offices for Bucks Council.

Reported crimes include violence and sexual offences (seven), drugs (three) and other crime (three).

Offences recorded as ‘other crime’ can include, forgery, perjury and more.

Criminal damage and arson (two), public order (two) and theft from a person (one) were also recorded in May.

1. Corporation Street – 19 offences

Corporation Street saw more reported crimes than any other road in High Wycombe in the month of May.

Shoplifting (15) was the most-reported offence.

Public order (three) and violence and sexual offences (one) were also recorded by police.
