Off-road motorbikes and quad bikes have been taken off the streets by police amid a string of complaints from residents about anti-social behaviour.

Officers from the Wycombe Neighbourhood Policing Team seized the noisy bikes from the Micklefield area after residents complained about noise.

It is not the first time off-road bikes have caused upset in High Wycombe, with ongoing claims of illegal riding in Sands and Castlefield.

Cllr Darren Hayday said residents have had to endure "dreadful" noise that carries around the valley - as well as possible danger when walking in woodland.

Thames Valley Police said residents in the Micklefield area will now be able to get a bit of "peace and quiet" after bikes were seized last week.

They said: "Last week, a number of ‘off-road’ motorbikes and quad bikes were seized from the Micklefield area following numerous complaints from local residents about the anti-social manner in which they were being ridden around the area."
