A family fun day will be held at The Rye in High Wycombe this summer - and it is completely free.

Falcon displays, ferret racing, face painting, ice cream stalls and lacemaking are just some of the exciting things on offer at the family fun day near Pann Mill on August 8.

The fun day is part of a week-long celebration of the Chilterns from August 1 to 8, which will also include walks, workshops and pub tours.

The Chilterns Celebration is the work of the Chalk, Cherries and Chairs project, spearheaded by the Chilterns Conservation Board and funded by the National Lottery.

At the Rye fun day, there will be children's craft activities, pole lathe demonstrations and food vans - while Chiltern Rangers, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust, Buckinghamshire Council and Amersham and Wycombe Museums will also be attending with more fun activities planned.

The whole event aims to encourage more people to explore the Chilterns and showcase the best of the area.

The fun day, which will run from 11am to 4pm, does not need to be booked in advance and it is free to enjoy.
