A drink-driving e-scooter rider who assaulted an ambulance technician has been fined and banned from the roads.

Miguel Angelo Dos Ramos Rebolo, aged 27, of Village Road, Dorney, was caught driving an electric scooter while over the drink-drive limit on the A4 Bath Road in Burnham on December 24, 2020.

At a hearing at Buckinghamshire Magistrates’ Court on July 5, the offender appeared via video link, and pleaded guilty to drink driving, driving without insurance, driving without a licence and assaulting an emergency worker.

The court heard how the offender was more than twice over the drink-drive limit – recording 87 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath when the legal limit is 35 milligrams.

Magistrates also heard how on the same day, also in Burnham, he assaulted an ambulance technician who was attempting to carry out their duties.

The offender was fined £240 and also ordered to pay £100 compensation. He was also banned from driving for 21 months.
