Man gets three year jail term for drug crimes in Aylesbury

Jojo Belongo, 21, of no fixed abode, was sentenced at Aylesbury Crown Court on Friday, July 9, 2021, to three years’ imprisonment, after he pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to supply crack cocaine, and possession of criminal property.

Catherine Heath, 44, Penn Road, Aylesbury, was sentenced at the same court on Tuesday, July 13 to 12 months’ suspended for two years, and ordered to undergo a drugs rehabilitation course.

This is in relation to an incident on Jan 26, 2021, when officers from the Aylesbury Stronghold team witnessed Heath conducting a drug deal on Penn Road, Aylesbury, before she entered the address.

Officers entered the property, where they found Heath in the living room, they also found Belongo attempting to hide in a bedroom.

Both were arrested from the address which belonged to a vulnerable person.

Belongo was in possession of £1,092 in cash and crack cocaine believed to be worth over £1,200.

Both Heath and Belongo were remanded to High Wycombe Magistrates Court where they both entered guilty pleas.

She pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs, and possession of cannabis.

Investigating officer, PC Ben McNeill of the Aylesbury Stronghold team, said: “Belongo and Heath had seemingly set themselves up in a vulnerable persons home in order to deal drugs in what we would describe as 'cuckooing'.

“This behaviour preys on people and has a detrimental effect on our communities.

“Drug dealing will not be tolerated within Aylesbury Vale and the Stronghold team will continue to pursue those who deal drugs and look to dismantle drugs lines and criminal groups involved in drug dealing.

“We will also look to safeguard vulnerable individuals who are targeted by drug dealers.”
