England and Manchester City star Raheem Sterling was spotted at Marlow Football Club's fixture on Friday evening.

Sterling, who grew up near Wembley, saw Marlow FC come out 1-0 winners over Burnham FC as he delighted fans with his attendance.

A picture of Sterling and a Marlow FC fan was shared on the club's official Twitter page, where it currently has over 6,000 likes.

The post reads: "It was a pleasure to see @sterling7 down at our game this evening."

England's official Twitter page also replied to the post saying: "Love this!"

Marlow FC wished Sterling "all the best for tor the new season ahead" and updated fans saying that the photo of the Premier League forward attracted 150 followers in just one day.

The update reads: "So the Raheem Sterling photo from last night attracted a lot of new people to our socials.

"A massive warm welcome to 150, yes, 150 new followers we’ve gained since midnight!

"Every follower we’ve gained is a new member in #TheBlues family."

Fans praised Sterling for supporting grassroots football calling him a "legend" with others saying they are "in awe of this young man".
