Plans to build a new office with flats above on a vacant plot in a Bucks town have been approved.
Bucks Council has permitted a planning application submitted by Mr Michael Trodd for an empty plot on Berkhampstead Road, in Chesham.
Plans detail the construction of a three-storey building with an office at ground floor level and two one-bed flats above.

The unoccupied plot is situated between an electricity substation, a pumping station, and a light industrial park, according to council documents.

However, it once housed a ‘building for public convenience’ used since the 1950s, but was vandalised multiple times before closing in 2001 and finally being demolished.

The site has seen several other planning applications submitted through the years.
Trodds Ltd Commercial Catering Engineers had been granted permission for an office building, but it said “due to the current global pandemic situation and its extensive economic impact on the hospitality sector, the approved project is considered not viable for the company in the near future”.
Hence an alternative “mixed-use” proposal.
Off-street parking is not included.
