A property previously extended to house six people could now be ‘converted’ to accommodate two more.

Mr Jamie Chapman has submitted to Bucks Council a ‘change of use’ application for 112 Micklefield Road, in High Wycombe.

Plans detail the property’s ‘conversion from a six-person house of multiple occupation (HMO) to eight persons’.

The house has previously been extended, according to council documents.

An HMO license for nine persons was granted by the council in March this year, it adds.

Three parking spaces will be removed.

“The proposal, with revised layout, would make better use of the space and create a form of lower cost housing which will meet a particular need, thereby making a small but positive contribution to the number of households and mix of housing,” a cover letter states.

“The proposed change of use would merely replace one form of residential accommodation with another, in an area identified as a prime focus for development.

“The level of traffic movements to and from the site as a result of this proposal would be of no more detriment to the amenity of local residents than the current situation of a six-person HMO.

“The proposal is not of a scale that would have a detrimental impact on the capacity of the local road network.”

It adds: “Given that there are no external alterations to consider, there would be no impact upon the character and appearance of the building or the surrounding area.

“The impact of two additional persons is marginal.”

The applicant is now awaiting a decision from Bucks Council.
