A careless driver who injured someone in a crash before fleeing the scene has been caught.

Korron Nelson, of Piggotts Orchard, in Amersham, was driving a Vauxhall Astra in a careless way when he was involved in a crash where another person was injured in White Hill, Chesham, on October 10, 2020.

Nelson, aged 27, appeared at Wycombe Magistrates’ Court on June 24, where he pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention, failing to stop after a road accident, failing to report an accident, and driving without insurance.

The court heard how Nelson was driving without paying proper attention before the crash, where another person suffered injuries.

Rather than stop to help, Nelson, who had no car insurance, fled the scene. He also failed to report the accident at a police station within 24 hours.

Nelson was fined a total of £200 and told to pay a further £205 in costs.

He was banned from driving for six months and was also ordered to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work within the next 12 months.
