A fifth man has been charged with the murder of a High Wycombe grandfather who died in the street last weekend. 

Thirty-two-year-old James Scott from Hawthorne Road is the fifth suspect to be charged with murder following the death of Andrew Ballantyne, 55, last Saturday. 

Mr Ballantyne, a father, grandfather and uncle, was reportedly found by police surrounded by a group of men in Micklefield Road just after midnight.

The men all fled when police arrived. Despite attempts to save his life, Mr Ballantyne died near the Jet petrol station on the junction with Hicks Farm Rise. 

Scott wil appear at Wycombe Magistrates' Court tomorrow, Monday, August 9. 

The four other men who have been charged are: 

  • Ramah Lambkin, 24, of Rowan Avenue, High Wycombe
  • Asher Anderson, 35, of Walton Gardens, Wembley
  • Daniel Ramsey, 25, of Micklefield Road, High Wycombe 
  • Nickolas Williams, 25, of Gibbs Close, High Wycombe
